Use the AccountMade Chrome Extension

The AccountMade Chrome extension puts your real workspace beside the page where you are working. It is not a separate questionnaire tool or a second answer library. The dock uses the same claims, sources, accounts, work, and sent records as AccountMade on the web.

Use it to:

  • answer inbound buyer work from supported claims;
  • verify buyer-facing wording before it leaves the browser;
  • capture a new assertion into the review flow;
  • insert a governed share link into a supported email editor; and
  • see which source and claim version stood behind an answer.

Questionnaire filling is one extension surface. The extension's broader job is to keep what your company tells buyers connected to its source before and after send.

Before you start

  • Sign in to the AccountMade workspace that owns the relevant claims and buyer account.
  • Open AccountMade from the Chrome toolbar.
  • Choose Use on this page only when the current page needs browser-level access.
  • Grant persistent access only for a named service you expect to use repeatedly. Other public pages use one-shot access for the current tab.

The dock is the AccountMade application at browser width. Workspace setup, billing, brand editing, and other wide administrative tasks may open in a full tab.

Verify wording before it leaves the browser

On a supported page, select or enter buyer-facing wording and run the AccountMade check. The extension compares it locally with a signed digest of approved workspace claims.

  • If a close approved claim exists, the check shows the relevant wording and source context.
  • You choose whether to use the suggested correction or dismiss it.
  • Dismissing a check does not modify the page.
  • The extension does not upload the draft or sent email body to perform local matching.

This check is useful anywhere an assertion is being written. It is not limited to a questionnaire.

Capture a new assertion

If the wording is genuinely new, capture the selected text into AccountMade instead of creating an invisible second answer library in the browser. The dock opens the workspace review flow so the assertion can receive a definition, source, owner, and approval state.

Capturing selected text is an explicit user action. The extension does not collect a page or monitor a keystroke stream in the background.

In a supported email editor:

  1. Open Send in the AccountMade dock.
  2. Choose the buyer-ready artifact or record.
  3. Review its access settings, including expiry or password when configured.
  4. Insert the HTTPS AccountMade link at the caret.

A governed link can retain version, view, expiry, and revocation controls that an email attachment cannot. Unsupported editors fail explicitly and are not modified.

When a cited claim changes, AccountMade can identify the affected sent record. A person at the sender's company decides whether to rebuild, re-issue, or revoke it; the extension does not send a correction to the buyer by itself.

Answer inbound buyer work

For a supported security review, RFP, or buyer form:

  1. Open the page and the AccountMade dock.
  2. Review the detected questions, proposed answer, citations, and current status.
  3. Choose Insert for an approved answer.
  4. Confirm the page shows the inserted value. AccountMade reads the field back before it marks the action complete.
  5. Review the completed work and submit it on the buyer's site yourself.

AccountMade never targets or presses a portal's submit control.

Understand the field markers

  • Filled — AccountMade wrote the value and read it back successfully.
  • Not sure — a possible match exists below the active confidence floor. It is excluded from bulk fill until a person reviews it.
  • Copy only — the page uses a control AccountMade cannot write safely. Copy the answer and place it manually.

When an answer has no support

An unsupported question stays blank. The dock shows the gap and, when available, the person responsible for resolving it. AccountMade does not invent an answer to make the form look complete.

Use the same library everywhere

Open Library to inspect the claim, citation, provenance, and version behind an answer. The same record can support browser checks, inbound work, generated material, and governed links. Updating a claim does not silently rewrite an already-sent artifact; it creates a visible impact that a person can review.

Privacy and permissions

  • The extension has no blanket website permission.
  • Content scripts do not make network requests directly.
  • Local claim checking does not upload raw DOM snapshots, draft or sent email bodies, or a keystroke stream.
  • The extension does not collect general browsing history or location.
  • A user-authorized action may send selected text, detected question labels, or field metadata.
  • A successful fill may record the final value read back, field reference, governed claim references, account context, and timestamp.

Troubleshooting

The check does not appear

Confirm that AccountMade is signed in and allowed on the current page. Some editors update their content after the extension reads it; select the relevant wording again and run the explicit check.

Confirm the editor is supported and that the caret is inside the message body. The extension does not fall back to editing an unknown control. Copy the link manually if the editor is not supported.

No form fields were detected

Reload the page after granting access, then reopen the dock. Some portals render questions only after a section is expanded.

A field says Copy only

The control cannot be written safely. Use the copied answer manually rather than forcing the page control.

Insert did not complete

The page may have changed the field after AccountMade wrote it. Reopen the question and try the explicit Insert action once more. If the value still does not stick, use copy-only and contact support with the portal name and field type. Do not send buyer data or credentials.

The extension is signed out

Open the dock and sign in again. If your organization manages extension access, its workspace or domain policy may also limit the page.
