What is slow security review costing you?

Every week a security questionnaire sits in a queue is answering labor spent and pipeline put at risk. Set the sliders to your reality — the defaults come from published industry benchmarks, and every one is cited. Nothing you enter leaves your browser.

Annual cost of your current review posture$230,000
Answering labor$30,000/yr
Pipeline at risk from slow turnaround$200,000/yr
Modeled deal-slip probability at 10 days13%

If a governed library reused 75% of your answers

$15,000/yr labor reclaimed200 hrs/yr returned

Reuse cuts the labor line. The pipeline line closes only when turnaround itself gets faster — that's the answer-once, prove-instantly case.

The benchmarks behind the defaults

Each default the calculator starts from is anchored to a published figure. Where sources disagree we carry a low / typical / high range rather than one false-precise number.

FAQ

How is the cost calculated?

Two parts. Answering labor = questions × minutes-per-question × your hourly cost × questionnaires per year, reduced by the share of answers you reuse. Pipeline at risk = the probability a gated deal slips when turnaround runs past the fast-responder threshold, applied to your deal size and volume. Every default and coefficient is drawn from the cited benchmarks below — the tool applies no invented numbers.

Where do the default numbers come from?

From published industry benchmarks on questionnaire length, completion time, turnaround, answer reuse, and the win-rate advantage of fast responders. Each is listed with its source and year in the benchmarks section. Adjust every input to your own reality — the defaults are just a starting point.

Does anything I type get uploaded?

No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your inputs are only encoded into the page URL so you can share or bookmark a result — nothing is sent to a server.
